Smart Cities and IoT

This course aims to provide understanding of what kind of data Smart cities can generate with the help of IoT, how urban data democratization be achieved and its application to access urban concepts. The course focused on:

  • how sensors can be used to generate urban data related smart cities,
  • how this data can be stored and accessed via platform designed for storing and accessing crowdsourced information,
  • what kind of data can be gathered (noise, users perspective, etc), and
  • introduction to the middleware platform APIs, such as FIESTA-IoT, and their usage (hands on session) with the creation of a sample test date centric application.

Other collaborator of the course was Prof. Ahmed Bouabdallah. My part of the course consisted of 4.5 hours of teaching with 39 students. This course was given at Telecom Bretagne in 2018.
